RV Preparation

During December 2008 - January of 2009, Tenaj decided to explore acquiring an RV, because it's always been a dream of mine and a horror of hers (she does NOT want to live in a trailer).  We agreed on a list of specifications (more on that later) and I made a list of enticements for Tenaj.

We were able to find a used RV that fit our specifications (2003 27' Vangaurd) and our budget because Tenaj noticed that one parked in the back of the RV lot had a lot lower price on it.  It was a fixer-upper and I agreed to do just that.  I've made long lists of my upgrade dreams that must wait because ...

One of the conditions of purchase was for Tenaj to take a few short trips in it, to see if it would be possible for it to be useful to us both.  It's now been well over a year since we purchased it and I've only just TODAY finished the minimum projects needed for Tenaj to travel in it.  It's taken me 6 times longer than I originally projected (lots of stories to tell about that).

In short, there were a lot of repairs needed, and the RV needed to be converted to 'boondockable' capable, because one condition was NO RV parks, ever!  It now has a simple preliminary power system.

The project completed today was 'Cat Screens'.  The RV now has cat resistant screens on all the windows and a cat proof partition screen between the Cab and the Coach, so that the six fur-faces will not be in the driver's compartment as we drive.
